ACI Wins San Diego Awards

We are proud to announce that ACI has been named as one of the 100 fastest growing privately held companies in San Diego by The San Diego Business Journal. This comes right along the path of being included in the Top 50 Women-Owned Businesses in San Diego. These awards are based on our success as one of the Southwest’s top hospitality-oriented architectural and interior design firms.

ACI has a new Junior Interior Designer. Fernanda Schumacher is a welcome addition to our firm. Her background in high-end residential and retail design brings us new experience in this area. As our firm continues to take on theme-based projects which incorporate both architecture and design, we are expanding our group with talented professionals who understand this collaborative design process. Prior to joining us, she worked at Cocoon Studio, a design firm located in La Jolla, California. She also had a number of independent commissions in retail design. Some of her past projects include The Wine Loft, Caffe Italia, the carpet design at the U.S. Grant and many upscale private homes in La Jolla and Del Mar. She is a graduate of the Design Institute of San Diego with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design. She will report directly to Kristine Steffen, Director of Interior Design.

 

New Projects at ACI
 

ACI was selected by San Vicente Inn and Golf Resort (Ramona, CA) to design the new interiors of 28 guest units. The San Vicente Inn is located approximately 35 miles inland from San Diego County. The newly remodeled guest units will mirror a Santa Barbara style with new finishes, luxurious bedding and draperies. The “Santa Barbara” architectural style is famous around the world. Although reminiscent of Spanish Architecture, the resort also blends the genres of the Mediterranean and Moorish traditions. Its key features are white stucco surfaces, the famous red tile roofs, courtyards, and wrought iron used to ornament windows, light fixtures, staircases, and other accent elements. The new look at the San Vicente Inn also features breath taking views of the surrounding area including the resort’s Ted Robinson designed golf course.
 

You’ve heard of the TV Show, Total Makeover? We are involved in another sort of total makeover. This one of a very high-end spa in North San Diego County. We were selected from a formidable group of firms for this all encompassing endeavor. Our vision is a modern interpretation of an ancient story featuring an Asian-themed renovation of every square foot of the public, guest and administrative spaces and the addition of new guest units. Watch for more news as it moves forward!
 

Desert Sky in Las Vegas
 

We are also excited by the opportunity to transform the Desert Sky Las Vegas apartment complex into a equestrian style timeshare resort. Located South of the Las Vegas Strip, the project is inspired by the neighboring hotel/casino and equestrian center known as South Coast Casino.
