San Diego Firm Honored for Architecture and Design Special Event Also Named as Finalist

Architectural Concepts, Inc. (ACI) a San Diego firm regarded as one of the nation’s top hospitality-oriented architectural and interior design firms, has been awarded two Silver Awards in the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) Awards Program. Selected from a field of international entrants ACI’s work on Raintree Vacation Club’s Club Regina (Los Cabos and Cancun) was named as a finalist in the Resort Architecture and Interior Design (Refurbishment) category.

The property’s re-design was born out of a two day workshop utilizing “Concentric Design Processes” lead by Margit Whitlock, AIA, Principal of ACI. One way the design team created distinction for the properties was to develop a proprietary Art Program.

“This is a wonderful honor to be selected from a group of other highly professional designers,” said Margit Whitlock AIA. “The award celebrates our talented team of creative design specialists who transformed Club Regina’s unique vision to reality by producing a practical and beautiful environment filled with local artwork from a pool of talent with Mexican heritage. Our program brings a gallery of art to each vacation suite. We all share in the recognition and are thrilled that our work is being enjoyed by so many vacationers.”

In addition to its acclaim for Raintree’s Vacation Club’s Club Regina, ACI has also been nominated in the association’s special event category for its 15th Anniversary “Lemon Drop3” party benefiting San Diego Habitat for Humanity held last May.

The final ARDA awards presentation (called The ARDYs) will be held April 9 in Las Vegas at the annual ARDA Convention.
