C.A.R.E. (The Cooperative Association of Resort Exchangers, Inc.) held its 52nd Semi-Annual Conference in Deerfield Beach, FL in May. During the conference, C.A.R.E.’s prestigious Pinnacle and Richard Gallardo awards were presented, two Vice Presidents were re-elected and an industry leader was a guest speaker.
The Pinnacle award, presented bi-annually to an individual who has attained the highest level of excellence in the vacation industry for their achievement, contribution and positive impact on the direction and standards of the C.A.R.E. organization, was presented to Linda Mayhugh, Accommodations Unlimited.
Tina Stafford, also from Accommodations Unlimited, was selected to receive the Richard Gallardo Award. Presented each year at C.A.R.E.’s spring conference, the award is given in recognition of outstanding volunteer service to the organization. According to Alain Carr, President,“ This award represents the heart and soul of the work ethic that our organization strives to promote and no one could exemplify this ideal more than Tina Stafford of Accommodations Unlimited.Tina attacks her work with such dedication, and energy. You just know when she is involved the job is going to get done. It is an honor to present her with this award. “
During the conference, two Vice Presidents were re-elected. Jeanette Bunn, Travel To Go, and Tina Hill, the Alderwood Group, LLC were each re-elected for three-year terms. All C.A.R.E. Board of Directors members are volunteers.
Conference attendees were honored to welcome Howard Nusbaum, RRP, ARDA President and CEO, as a special guest speaker. Mr. Nusbaum opened with a grateful acknowledgement to C.A.R.E. member companies for “making a real difference” in the timeshare and vacation ownership industry. He gave a brief explanation of the evolution of timeshare and defined today’s industry for 2011 and beyond. He concluded by speaking of the ways C.A.R.E. and ARDA could work together and thanked C.A.R.E. member companies and representatives for their day to day efforts toward ensuring the continued success and viability of the vacation ownership industry.
C.A.R.E. is an international, not-for-profit trade association founded in 1985.
