FESTIVA SELECTS SPI SOFTWARE

January 29, 2007 by Timeshare News

Resort Developer Festiva Resorts recently entered into an agreement to purchase Systems Products International (SPI)’s software for deployment throughout its timeshare resorts, vacation club and yachting facilities.

“I just had Systems Products International (SPI)’s system installed on my PC and I believe it is an excellent tool,” says Festiva’s CEO Donald Clayton, RRP. “SPI’s software automatically updates me with sales and marketing information in real-time. I can see who is touring, who has purchased, which marketing programs are bringing in the results and which members of our sales teams are having the greatest success.”

Clayton is CEO of the multi-site resort development company and directs its activities as they provide vacation ownership at locations in the Carolinas, Missouri and the Caribbean. Festiva hired SPI to provide software to handle all of its technology needs from sales and marketing to resort management, reservations and back-office data management.

Clayton continues, “We recently launched Festiva Resorts Adventure Club, which permits owners to use points for accommodations at any of our resort locations or for cruises using our private, crewed yachts. After studying the market, we found SPI’s software to be the most complete and capable vehicle for handling points. Plus, they allow us unrestricted, direct access to the underlying databases in which our data resides (unlike competing software vendors), enabling us to internally develop complimentary reports, applications and interfaces. This is a significant benefit, which minimizes the need for frequent and potentially costly modifications to the software itself.”

Says SPI Director of Sales Matt Brosious, “SPI just recently began installing software for Festiva and training is underway. Our customer service people enjoy working with their people very much. Festiva’s senior management and staff exemplify the southern tradition of hospitality and getting to know them has been one of the highlights of the experience.

“The two companies, Festiva and SPI, are both in a similar developmental cycle. Both companies have been long-term players in the timeshare industry. (SPI was founded in 1978. Festiva’s principals have also been in the resort industry for several decades, before founding their own company six years ago.) Festiva, like SPI, reports that 2006 was a very successful year for them. Each of us anticipates another year of significant growth. We are very proud to be associated with them.”
