Festiva unveils new Adventure Club, sales center
December 29, 2006 by Timeshare News
Festiva Resorts has unveiled the Festiva Adventure Club with the opening of a new 5,000 squarefoot sales center in Nassau, located on Providence Island in the Bahamas.
The center, which opened in September, showcases the new points-based Festiva Adventure Club vacation program, which gives members easy access to the company’s nine resorts and its luxury yacht charters.
“The Festiva Adventure Club is the answer for those who want more flexibility and choice in their vacation-ownership program,” said Festiva CEO Don Clayton. “Instead of buying a fixed week at a specific resort, members purchase an allotment of points that they can use for vacations at any of our properties. Or, if they choose, they can use their points to experience one of our all inclusive yacht charters offered through Elite Island Yachts.”
Adventure Club members have even greater flexibility by having the option to use their points to vacation at any of the 2,000 resorts worldwide that are affiliated with Interval International. Points values for accommodations are based on factors such as the popularity of the resort (or yacht), size of accommodations and time of year.
Clayton said that when it came time to build a flagship sales center for the Adventure Club, Nassau was an easy choice for several reasons. Located in the Historic British Colonial Nassau Hilton, the sales center overlooks the port of Nassau, which welcomes more than two million cruise ship visitors each year. In addition, the center is only a block away from popular tourist attractions such as Bay Street, Rawson’s Square and the Straw Market. As a result, the sales center will be within easy access for visiting cruise-ship passengers as well as land-based tourists year-round.
“This sales center also allows us to showcase all of our resorts in one place,” Clayton said. “It’s challenging to have complete sales and marketing operations at each of our locations, given our preference for smaller boutique properties. Now we can introduce guests to all of our resorts in a space that reflects our focus on sophisticated, service-oriented getaways.”
Festiva took a decidedly high-tech turn in designing the Nassau sales center, equipping each preview station with widescreen LCD monitors so guests can view Google Earth overviews and IPIX 360-degree virtual tours of each resort. They can also peruse the websites for Elite Island Yachts and Festiva Travel and Cruises, the company’s extensive member-benefits program.
The Nassau sales center employs 50 salespeople, eight support staff and eight managers, with additional staff planned as the Adventure Club grows and is offered at the company’s other sales centers.
Based in Asheville, N.C., Festiva Resorts owns or manages nine resorts in some of the most sought-after vacation destinations in the world, including the Carolina Coast, Orlando, Fla., Branson, Mo., the Bahamas and the Caribbean. The company also owns Elite Island Yachts, which offers private, luxury yacht charters throughout the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
