Dan Haggerty, actor and philanthropist, will promote timeshare and charity endeavors

Island One Resorts has named Dan Haggerty as their spokesman for their timeshare and charitable endeavors. While well-known for his starring role in the television series Grizzly Adams, Haggerty is also famous for his dedication to philanthropy. “Dan’s incredible down-to-earth charisma combined with his passion for making the world a better place make him a fabulous spokesman for us,” said Deborah Linden, CEO. “He embodies the spirit of freedom that we strive to create at our resort properties.”

Haggerty will make appearances at company properties and Club Navigo sales centers as well as raise awareness for Island One Foundation fundraising events. “I am thrilled to be involved with a company as dynamic as Island One Resorts, with a vacation product so usable as Club Navigo,” he said. “I am impressed by their commitment to improving the lives of people through emphasizing quality in their leisure time. They give people the opportunity to experience so much more of the world, and truly make the most of their family’s time. It’s a well-designed product that gives people a lot of value.”

Haggerty was introduced to the company and its vacation family at the 2008 Cruisin’ For A Cause, an Island One Foundation fundraising event. “Dan so genuinely cares about the causes he endorses, and the people whose lives he touches,” said Cary Erfurth, company executive vice president and chairman of the Island One Foundation. “His focus upon collective unity and community are the basis of his spokesman role with Club Navigo. His compassion and sense of social responsibility are apparent in all he does. Combined with his charm and ease, he’s a well-rounded individual who understands how to communicate one-on-one to our owners and guests.” His efforts helped the Foundation raise over $350,000 for its primary project in 2008, a Habitat for Humanity Central Florida home for a war veteran wounded in Iraq.

Haggerty enjoys working with individuals and companies who share his passions of art, invention and progress. He has contributed his skills as a front man for many charitable fundraising efforts for orphanages, the Special Olympics, battered and abused children as well as his own Dan Haggerty’s Celebrity Ski Fest: Say No To Drugs, held in Snow Valley near Los Angeles. His abilities to engage, entertain and spread awareness both enlighten and inspire people of all walks of life. He has been the spokesman for several corporations including Nestea®, Ralston Purina®, Wheat Chex® and Del Monte Foods®.

Finely tuned into nature, Dan has trained and handled many animals for their movie roles, including dogs, bears, wolverines, birds of prey, wild boar, foxes and big cats. He has honed his culinary skills and established his own line of barbecue sauces, seasonings and rubs, known for their natural ingredients and authentic flavors. In 2003, he launched a signature series furniture line.

He remains very active as an actor, starring in multiple films every year. He prefers acting in outdoor films designed to entertain the entire family; he has been awarded the Dove Foundation’s “Diamond Seal of Approval” for over one million family videos sold. Recent work includes voiceover projects for Disney, Warner Brothers and Nickelodeon. He is also an accomplished artist with a plethora of sculptures, paintings and etchings.
