NetJets, Europe based private jet company which has been offering its services in India for the past four years, announced its sales partnership with Shreyans - a distributor of luxury brands, in Mumbai today. India is the first country of NetJet’s foray in the Asian market and the company offers its business jet services to the corporate and leisure segments. The company is also considering its options in the domestic market, including working with additional local partners. “We are finding vendors in the India and by next year we might authorise a few. NetJets will not base an aircraft in India. After a booking is confirmed the aircraft will fly in from Europe to service the client,” informed Robert Dranitzke, Director, Marketing, NetJets.

“In last four years, we witnessed a growth of 400 per cent in NetJets business jet flights to and from India. There are about 45 registered private jets operating in India and the demand is for 400 private jets. There is a lot of potential and ground to cover. After this strategic partnership with Shreyans, we are expecting remarkable growth,” stated Dranitzke. NetJets is going to offer clients fractional ownership of the aircraft. It is also planning to offer Corporate Card and private Jet Card for clients flying frequently. Sheryans is going to adopt a direct marketing strategy to enhance the business in the country. “We are not looking at millions of clients but we are targeting to have 100 clients in couple of years,” said Ashish Chordia, CEO, Shreyans.

With regards to domestic operations, Dranitzke said, “Currently it is illegal for us to operate locally. If we are operating on the route say Europe – Mumbai – Delhi – Mumbai, then it is fine. But we cannot operate Mumbai – Delhi or to any other region within the country.” The company is not looking at applying for a permit to operate in the domestic market. We are just observing the Indian market, if required we might apply for it in the future,” commented Dranitzke. NetJets billed as the leader in fractional aircraft ownership, is one of the largest operator of private jets with a combined fleet worldwide of over 735 aircraft. The company currently has operations in USA Europe and Middle East.
