Like many second generation timeshare professionals, Tracy Ragatz is following in the footsteps of her father, veteran international timeshare consultant and market researcher Dick Ragatz, who recently announced Tracy’s promotion to Director of Consulting with Ragatz Associates.
Added firm president and founder Dick Ragatz, “Tracy has worked with us for over 15 years as a subcontractor consulting in the resort industry and is now with us on a full-time basis. Since she joined Ragatz Associates last spring, she has contributed to over 50 highly specialized reports and feasibility studies.”
Tracy has conducted field research for numerous feasibility studies for resort timesharing, fractional interest, private residence clubs and hotel condominium projects. She has also assisted in conducting consumer and product research relating to the shared ownership resort and real estate industry with a special emphasis on competitive forces, tourism and demographics and economic trends. Working from her San Diego office, Tracy will continue to provide feasibility research assistance as well as direct consultations with new Ragatz Associates clients.
Previously, she was associated with the fitness industry in California, holding several marketing and sales management positions. Tracy Ragatz holds a MBA from San Diego State University and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of California, San Diego.
Since 1974, Dick Ragatz has worked with nearly every major participant in the resort industry on a global basis, personally conducting nearly 2,000 studies for resort developments in 46 states and over 70 countries. He is a specialist in the shared-ownership leisure real estate industry, including private residence clubs, fractional interests, destination clubs, and resort timesharing. Headquartered in Eugene, Oregon, Ragatz Associates clients represent both the private sector (from small, individually owned companies to international corporations) and the public sector (from small municipalities to national governments).
In 2006 he was honored as the recipient of the American Resort Development Association’s (ARDA) most prestigious “Ace Lifetime Achievement Award”.
Dick Ragatz earned his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1969. His doctorate dissertation is recognized as the first national study on vacation homes ever conducted in the United States.
