Raintree Resorts Acquires 10th Mexican Property Brings Total Resorts To 20 In North America

Raintree Resorts International has recently acquired its tenth vacation ownership resort in Mexico and its second property in Puerto Vallarta.

The new resort, renamed Raintree’s Villa Vera Puerto Vallarta, was purchased on May 7 from Jose Luis Borioli, a Puerto Vallarta developer. Previously known as Nautilus, the property features an on-site restaurant overlooking the marina, two swimming pools, meeting rooms, and a business center. The property was attractive to the developer due to its ideal location within the marina, across the street from Raintree’s Club Regina Puerto Vallarta, acquired by the company in 1997.

“The new resort provides a great property adjacent to our existing Club Regina and gives our Members additional access to the popular vacation destination with added meeting space and 100% renovated units, accommodating primarily couples on vacation,” explains Doug Bech, CEO of Raintree Resorts.

The Houston, Texas-based company plans to spend about $4.5 million in renovations to the new property to ensure that it maintains the same scale as other company resorts in terms of overall vacation experience. Villa Vera Puerto Vallarta is one of 20 resorts in the points-based Raintree Vacation Club.

Completion of the refurbishment process to the RCI Gold Crown resort is expected in less than a year. Additional plans included a fitness center and proposed beach club with a massive sundeck addition. The grounds will also be fully landscaped upon completion of the renovations.
