The 2012 RCI Christel House Open will kick off on Monday, June 4, in Indianapolis and will continue at 16 sites on five continents. This event, which is celebrating its 10th year, welcomes thousands of golfers, sponsors and volunteers from around the world to raise funds and awareness for Christel House International. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the event directly benefit the children of this nonprofit organization.
“The RCI Christel House Open has become a highlight of the year for thousands of people across the world in the timeshare and hospitality industries who take pride in supporting an organization that does so much to help feed, clothe and educate many of the world’s most impoverished children,” said Geoff Ballotti, CEO, RCI. “What Christel House does so well is to give these children the tools and training they desperately need to transform their lives forever and we at RCI are honored to once again have the opportunity to sponsor this great event.” [member]
Christel DeHaan, the co-founder of RCI, founded Christel House in 1998. The nonprofit aims to help its more than 3,300 children around the world break the cycle of poverty, realize their hopes and dreams and become self-sufficient, contributing members of society. The organization operates Learning Centers in the U.S., India, Mexico and South Africa and funds outreach programs in Serbia and Venezuela.
“RCI and Christel House joined hands in 2003 with the launch of the inaugural RCI Christel House Open,” said DeHaan. “Since then, much of the success of the tournament has been the result of RCI’s unwavering support. We are extremely grateful and thank everyone at RCI for their extraordinary contributions.”
Christel House and the RCI Christel House Open are strongly supported by developers, resorts and vendors in the timeshare industry. Christel House is also one of the three signature charities of Wishes by Wyndham, the philanthropic program of Wyndham Worldwide.
