SHELL VACATIONS HOSPITALITY PROMOTES KONA EMPLOYEE TO MANAGER’S POSITION

Shell Vacations Hospitality has announced the recent promotion of Cintia Dutra from Assistant General Manager to General Manager of the Kona Coast Resort.
 

 

Dutra has been with Shell Vacations Hospitality for the past 14 years, serving in guest services, reservations, owner services and as owner services manager, rising with each promotion to increasing levels of responsibility.
 

As the resort’s new General Manager, Cintia Dutra directs the management of a total staff of about 100 full and part-time employees at the Big Island property.

 

According to Susan Kelley, Senior Vice president of Shell Vacations Hospitality, “Cintia was selected for this important position due to her total dedication to our owners, our employees and our high quality standards in Shell Vacations Hospitality.”
 

Located in Keauhou on Alii Drive, the Kona Coast Resort is a 265-unit property that welcomes full-time Hawaii homeowners, timeshare owners and transient guests. The property was developed by Shell Vacations LLC, one of the nation’s largest independent vacation ownership developers.
 

A veteran of 18 years in the hospitality industry, the Hawai’i Hotel Association selected Dutra as an Honorable Mention for the Na Po’e Pa’ahana Award, 2002-2003 Manager of the Year.
 

Born and raised in Brazil, she moved to U.S. and later attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana where she studied Linguistics and foreign languages. She lived in several states before moving to the Big Island of Hawaii, 15 years ago.
 

Dutra has been involved with the Hawaii Visitors Charity Walk for the past seven years as a participant and recruiter in support of non-profit organizations. She has also volunteered as a coach for the youth soccer organization, AYSO, and is also involved with the Aloha Performing Arts Company. She and her husband of 21 years have two children and live in Kailua-Kona.
Prior to her move to Hawaii, Cintia was employed by the Regent Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills and Westwood Plaza Holiday Inn in Westwood, California.
 

Adjacent to the Kona Country Club with its 36-hole golf course, the Kona Coast resort features two swimming pools, three Jacuzzis, sauna, children’s pool and playground, tennis courts, volleyball, fitness facility and a putting green.
