Tamarack Resort’s Olympic-Sized SuperPipe is Ready for Riders

January 18, 2008 by Timeshare News

Pipe is just one of six in North America to feature the new Olympic standard

Tamarack Resort’s monstrous Hells Canyon SuperPipe is now open for all freeriders. At 450-feet long with towering 22-foot walls, the pipe is one of just six in North America to feature the new
Olympic standard – walls four feet higher than typical pipes.

“We love being able to offer such world-class amenities so athletes can really push the sport,” said Ken Rider, Director of Resort Sales and Marketing. “With the pipe right at the base and visible from our Village, anyone
can enjoy the show whether they’re on the mountain or enjoying après fare from our patios.”

Once again, the Hells Canyon SuperPipe will be making its national debut at the Chevy U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix, which stops at Tamarack on February 8-10.  Riders from all over the world will travel to Tamarack
to put their freeride skills to the test on Hells Canyon’s walls, getting boosted more than 20 feet into the air.
The Grand Prix events are free to all spectators. Check the Grand Prix page at www.TamarackIdaho.com for the latest schedule, news on which riders will show up to show off, and high-flying video from last year’s competition.

Having the only pipe of this size in the region provides a unique opportunity for teams and clubs to come train on the new Olympic standard. The world-class recreation amenities combined with Village and lodging facilities
just steps away creates an enviable environment for training the next generation of freeride stars. For more information on training on the Hells Canyon SuperPipe, contact Tamarack’s Leisure Group Sales Manager Jeff Carroll at 208.325.1019 or jcarroll@tamarackidaho.com
