TATOC Set To Announce Radical New Plans At Their Annual Conference!
February 14, 2008 by Timeshare News
TATOC will announce radical changes to their mode of operation at their Annual Conference, which is being held at Warrington from 7th to 9th March 2008. The Conference will also be used as a vehicle to reveal exciting and bold new plans. TATOC hope these plans will enhance the timeshare experience for both existing and prospective owners.
In an exclusive announcement issued through The Timeshare Blog and Perspective Magazine, TATOC have also confirmed that one of their new initiatives will be a resort accreditation process. Timeshare resorts in Europe will have an optional opportunity to be examined and awarded a TATOC Accreditation. This will allow the establishment to display a TATOC Endorsement Certificate in the resort reception and to fly the TATOC flag outside the resort.
Representing some 250,000 timeshare users at seventy member resorts, TATOC is the largest elected body that speaks on behalf of European timeshare consumers. TATOC believes the introduction of accreditation process will have a considerable, positive impact in the marketplace.
TATOC Secretary General Harry Taylor said “The TATOC Board has unanimously supported the proposed accreditation process. We feel it is one of the ways that the interests of all timeshare owners and users can be protected. It will also play a positive part in changing the perception of timeshare. The introduction of this service fits with the new mission for TATOC. We will be announcing this mission at our conference in March”
Taylor explained that the resort accreditation process will require participating resorts to pass a stringent examination process. This examination will focus on the service levels provided at the resort and will scrutinize the full guest experience. This will include the resort’s liaison with the guest before they arrive on holiday and the sales deck experience offered to those guests who choose to attend a presentation. All of the resorts that successfully pass this accreditation will be listed on the TATOC website.
Taylor also confirmed an exciting line up of speakers for this year’s TATOC Annual Conference, which will be led by former RCI Director, David Lilley. Speakers at the Conference will include: the Managing Director of McDonald’s Resorts, Simon Jackson; Vice President of RCI, Dimitris Manikis; Interval International’s Chris Sheldon; Joint Managing Director of Lilo Media International, Charles Low; and Kathryn Duffy of Wellness Rejuvenation Rooms. Jennie Thompson, Chairman of Club Alanda, will hold a resort-focused, three-way discussion with three special guests on the subjects of resales, legal challenges, and resort finances and accounting.
Taylor said “We have had some very good speakers in previous years. However, I feel the names we have this year (together with the stimulating and provocative subjects being discussed) will significantly lift the bar in terms of conference standards. Anyone who has an interest in the future of timeshare in Europe would be well advised to attend”.
TATOC will be announcing the definitive and final conference agenda on the 20th February. The agenda, which will be posted on the TATOC and Timeshare Blog website, will carry news of associated conference events and details about the event sponsors.
