Tamarack Resort’s Hotel Condominium Development Inks Multi-Year Deal with Mancuso
Fairmont Tamarack, a 374 unit luxury hotel condominium development located at Idaho’s Tamarack Resort, locked up Olympic Gold Medalist Julia Mancuso to a multi-year partnership to enhance the profile of the resort’s three-year old ski mountain. The resort’s skiing and snowboarding has begun to receive industry acclaim since its opening in December 2004, including Ski Magazine’s recent Rookie of the Year Award for Bliss, a run descending more than 2,800 vertical feet. Mancuso hopes to bring more awareness to America’s newest ski destination, which is also the nation’s first full-season resort to open in more than 20 years.
Mancuso’s decision to select Fairmont Tamarack as her ‘home away from home’ was due not only to the quality of the skiing and snowboarding she’d be associated with, but also to the outdoor lifestyle the resort affords its visitors. While Fairmont Tamarack will not be completed until 2010, Mancuso plans to spend significant time at the resort in the off season, where its unparalleled natural amenities are a natural fit for the outdoor obsessed 23-year-old. “I was drawn to Tamarack not only for the quality of the mountain, but also because of everything I can do there when there isn’t any snow,” explained Mancuso. “Lake Cascade is within walking distance of the Village and when you’re used to Lake Tahoe at 50 degrees, 72 degrees feels pretty darn good.” Mancuso’s representative at CAA Sports, Lowell Taub, connected Mancuso to Tamarack.
Tamarack joins a long list of world class Fairmont mountain resorts. In Eastern Canada, Fairmont Tremblant is a popular choice for those who love great skiing and the charming French atmosphere of this mountain village. All of Fairmont’s Quebec properties are an easy drive from classic slopes like Mont Ste. Anne, Stoneham and Le Massif. On the Western front the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and Fairmont Banff Springs are cradled by three of the Rockies’ most popular ski resorts and some of the finest powder skiing on the planet. Celebrity-favored Fairmont Chateau Whistler offers ski-in/ski-out access to world famous Whistler Blackcomb, two adjoining mountains with over 200 runs offering terrain for every level of winter enthusiast, and will proudly welcome guests from near and far for the 2010 winter Olympics.
When asked about the Fairmont Tamarack project, she speaks from the perspective of someone with the experience of staying at resort hotels and lodges all over the world. “The Fairmont project there is going to be what a mountain resort destination should be - comfortable, locally inspired and all about service,” Mancuso says. The project is being jointly developed by Miami’s Echo Partners, LLC and Andre Agassi and Stefanie Graf’s new venture, Agassi Graf Development.
Making reference to Agassi’s involvement in the project, Mancuso quips, “I heard Andre’s hitting the snowboard hard; this winter we’re going to have to get out there and see who’s boss.”
