Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.® (NYSE: HOT) and Belfonti Capital Partners today announce the re-flagging of the 481-room Aruba Resort Spa & Casino as The Westin® Aruba Resort. The hotel has completed the first phase of its $24 million renovation, designed to offer guests a captivating resort experience, exquisite dining and dazzling ocean views.

White sand beaches and clear ocean waters make Aruba the ideal escape for sun-bound vacationers seeking the perfect spot for relaxation and personal renewal. Located on 7.5 acres of beachfront property in the Palm Beach area north of Oranjestad, The Westin Aruba Resort is one of Aruba’s premier resort destinations, perfect for honeymooners, vacationing families and business executives.

As a result of the renovation, guestrooms and suites have been upgraded with new furnishings and amenities, including marble baths, 32’ flat screen televisions, an array of Westin’s Heavenly Bath® products, and Westin’s signature Heavenly Bed®. The resort’s 12,000 square foot Casablanca Casino, which received 200 new state-of-the-art slot machines, features Rick’s Café, one of the hottest lounges in Aruba. Comix Café, offering first-class comedy, adds to the resort’s wide selection of entertainment options.

“The Westin Aruba Resort will be the crown jewel of the Caribbean and one of the most exclusive properties on the island,” said Michael Belfonti, co-founder and chairman of Belfonti Capital Partners. “We are supportive of the growth in Aruba’s economy and tourism and are excited to raise The Westin flag in Aruba and deliver all of Westin’s world renowned signature services and amenities.”

The Westin Aruba Resort features 481 guestrooms and suites with private balconies, all offering ocean views. Other highlights include an Intermezzo Spa, 18,000 square feet of flexible meeting and conference space, a Westin Kid’s Club® for children ages 4-12, and, wi-fi throughout the resort. The resort houses eight dining options, including the internationally-acclaimed Cuban Revue at Cabaret Royale.

During their stay, travelers can lounge by the seaside pool or take part in numerous activities including sailing, windsurfing, scuba diving and deep-sea fishing. Just three miles from the resort, guests can browse in shops and enjoy entertaining nightlife. The Westin Aruba Resort participates in the Starwood Preferred Guest Program and features smoke-free guestrooms and public areas.

“The debut of a resort of this caliber in Aruba perfectly aligns with our strategy to grow The Westin brand in the world’s most coveted resort destinations,” said Sue Brush, senior vice president, Westin Hotels & Resorts. “Whether visiting for business or pleasure, The Westin Aruba Resort will offer guests an idyllic retreat to feel rejuvenated and refreshed.”

In addition to upgrading The Westin Aruba Resort, Starwood has plans to launch the first Westin-branded, vacation ownership resort on Aruba. This resort, managed by Starwood Vacation Ownership®, will be located on land adjacent to the hotel and will feature 154 two-bedroom villas. Sales for the deluxe accommodations will begin in early 2007
